Technology Systems and Services at MDCPS (Miami Dade County Public Schools) Many school districts around the country provide students with the most up to date technology to enhance learning experiences. MDCPS (Miami-Dade County Public School) system is no different and all of the services available to students are provided to improve the quality of education. Some of the many services available are the student and parent portal, employee portal, FCAT explorer, Riverdeep learning and numerous programs that enhance the many subject areas taught in the MDCPS system. Additionally, MDCPS technology systems/services are appropriate for use by students, parents, faculty and staff. All systems/services at MDCPS are user friendly and improve the learning/working environment for all parties involved.

The MDCPS portal system/service is an online and is designed for parents, students, employees and the communities to have access to the information that aids in the enrichment of the students in this school system. MDCPS has many services available to provide students ample opportunities to succeed in their educational endeavors.
The employee portal is geared towards the needs of employees. On this portal,, employees have an e-mail system, access to salary information, professional development, class list information, weekly briefings, grade-book and many useful sites that aids in the fulfillment of every employees' responsibilities. The one major components of the employee portal is the grade-book that allows teachers to keep accurate records of student progress and make that progress available to students. The information provided by teachers is available to parents, students and administrators. Hence, it is important that teachers maintain accuracy and promptness in keeping records of academics and attendance.
The Students Portal is where students are provided with many important links to help in the attainment of their education. On this portal, students have the ability to view their academic progress, attendance, discipline and any other comments that may have been imputed as a part of that student’s record by instructors. The Student Portal also provided students with links to learning that provides learning enrichment after the school day. All of these tools are quite useful and provide further enhancement to the quality of education students receive at MDCP schools.
Similarly, on the Parent Portal, parents have viewing rights to their child’s grades, attendance, discipline and comments made by instructors. The Parent Portal is equally important because it provides parents with the ability to look at their child’s progress and determine steps necessary to ensure the success of their child. This system is very important because parents are defiantly the driving force behind the education of their children and having access to such important information only helps with the attainment of a quality education. On the Parent Portal, parents have access to school calendars, PTSA information, the code of student conduct, school cafeteria menu’s, transportation information and a plethora of important and useful information to guarantee that every child in MDCPS gains adequate access to a superior education.
