Marc Prensky: Prominent Figure in Instructional Technology
pransky1.jpgMarc Prensky is undoubtedly one of the most notable leaders in the field of Instructional technology. His many accomplishments place him on the very top of the short list of prominent figures in Instructional Technology. Prensky is a multi-talented and possessed many admirable qualities which has enabled him to reach his internationally acclaimed professional level. Prensky is an outstanding author speaker, consultant and designer of multiple educational games that enhance learning. Prensky has authored three books, written over 60 essays/articles about learning and education and has created/designed over 50 software games learning. Most notably however, Prensky coined the term “Digital natives/Digital Immigrants.” Additionally he is the founder and CEO of Games2train, his list of clients range from Pfizer to the US Department of Defense and even FLVS (Florida Virtual School) of which I hope to be employed in the near future.
Professional Preperation
B.A: Oberlin University in Frence with a minor in math/science
M.A: From Middlebury Graduate School in France which included classes at La Sorbonne and La Conservatoire d'Art dramatique, Paris.
M.A.T: Yale Graduate School of Arts and Science a Masters of Art in Teaching with a full fellowship plus a stipend.
M.B.A: Harvard Business School, degree was awarded with "distinction," academic honors and Prensky was a fellowship recipient.

Prensky has published over 50 articles, all related to education and the enhancement of the field. His most noteworthy articles geared towards Instructional Technology are:

All of the above mentioned articles focus on the growing field of Instructional Technology and the many ways classrooms, the lives of parents, students and teachers an be enhanced through the field.

Current WorkCurrently Marc Prensky is working towards many different goals and he is multi-faceted in his work. Prensky offers a wide range of services which is accessible to the general public and includes: keynote peaking, student panels / interviews, workshops / professional development, consulting on educational and training game design, custom-designed learning games, learning game templates, writing (custom articles) and research on games and learning. Additionally, Prensky operates a game-based learning company (games2train.com) that focuses on training and learning to meet the many needs of training in certain companies. The clients for this company are very diverse and include; American Express, Bank of America, Charles Schwab, Estee Lauder, IBM, JP Morgan Chase, Nokia, Pfizer, the US Department of Defense, and the Florida and Los Angeles Virtual Schools.
